denjac, mines on the trolling motor and the transom and works just fine.... Love it for peaking in and around docks and checking cables for suspended fish.. Worth every penny...

Good Fishing

My bad then. I was told they didnt work well on the troller. Said the boat had to be moving 2-3 mph to work well. Maybe I will get me one then.

That speed fallacy is false...I've been using SI on the trolling motor for many years and has been very beneficial. I don't work for Humminbird but do receive promotional help from them. I'm just an SI Addict and enjoy helping others.

Don ,do you have any pics of fish on a cable from your trolling motor transducer? I would like to experiment with that setup.Thanks.

redbud, yes I will have to dig some up I know I have a few.. Works really good when the fish get in the dock stalls and on the fronts on the cables.. like this time of year, bigger fish are starting to suspended under docks, flipping jigs and spoons can really pay off.. Trick is to stay a steady course at low to med speed in front or on the side of a dock, try not to turn, make a pass reset yourself and make another pass. Slow down your SI screen speed to get really clear shots..

Trying to get out in the morning, heard the fish are in the bushes shallow down around the DAM, going to try to use my SI to find fish up in the bushes and mark them.. Should be fun.. Will post if I get anything really good..

Use it, Play with it, that is the best tool I can offer..

Enjoy..

You sold me on SI. I can't wait to get one. Oh yes! It will be mine. I could look at that stuff all day and not get tired of it. The Pros swear by them. Says it eliminates unproductive water so much faster. I was watching the Bassmaster tournament that was in Tenn. KVD said that the school of fish that he found was not holding to anything and he would not of found it without SI. Awesome.

That is cool but I am going to play devils advocate here. If they would work on the trolling motor I would have one, but not until then. I think a guy would spend to much time ideling around and not enough time fishing. Those hanging fish 100 foot off the port side arnt going to bite anyway. I know I am an old fuddy duddy. :bringitout:

Now Dougie be nice.......

Denjac let me tell you about one of the most "painful" phone calls I ever made.

I've worked with Dougie for sometime now with Humminbird and Doug has always had an SI on the TM. He kept telling me I needed to run one up front and I kept saying, "Doug, I just can't see the benefit for how I fish!" Then, on a whim I set a 997 on the bow. I was fishing flooded bushes on Truman, Doug's home lake, and found fish on the submerged brush points. With the SI I could target specific bushes while on the TM.

So, I called Doug up and told him I hate to make this phone call but I had to tell him how well it worked! Now if you know Doug he didn't say a word.... YEAH RIGHT! Best part was while I'm on the phone I had to say.... "Hold on, I've got another one!"

Docks on Lake O, Table Rock etc. great way to select which one's you want to fish.....

Go Dougie, Go Dougie, Go Dougie........ :P
