Billfo Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I plan on fishing Indian creeks to Baxter in about a week. Q: What is the current water temperature ? Q: When will the lake "turn over" ? Thank you.. Bill Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I'm no expert but I don't think it typically turns over for a quite a while. Maybe Nov. or Dec. I'm sure some local expert (Phil) will chime in. The reason I answered was, we were swimming in the lake just over a week ago. SIO3
GREENTRITON Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 71.5 water temp yesterday at aunts creek. High skys hard to catch fish for me. Only 2 shorts..

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 4, 2010 Root Admin Posted October 4, 2010 Water temp has to drop down into the 40's usually. Surface water has to be colder than the lower levels of the lake (the bottom). Don't look for it before early December.
Members wallin Posted October 10, 2010 Members Posted October 10, 2010 Had a great week, fishing was slow, but you could not beat the weather we had. We did catch fish every time we went out but very small-only a few legal Bass, could not find an eye at all. We pulled boards and jigged around point 7 all the way to six, and around point 8 and the island. We tried and caught fish every time we went out, even caught a bearded Clam 1 night lmao. Great trip will post pics later. We stayed at Kimberling City Inn, seen a few guys about every morning in a Starcraft Trolling Point 7, so we figured we were in the right spot, talked to the local bait shop and things are very, very slow.
