Flyflinger Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Dear Cardiac, I am writing you today to put an end to our relationship. I understand that I got into this thing knowing full well your reputation. Nevertheless, I did think that I could change you. In no ways was our status exclusive..you saw others anglers..I saw other streams...I had hoped however that we would come to the conclusion that we needed each other. I know now that it is impossible...you will never change. You see its been a give and take relationship from the start. I give you my devotion, time,flies...and you take them. Sure you entice me with your good looks and willingness to let me wet my line, but you leave me more often than not with an empty feeling. In short, I am tired of feeling used. I will have you know that I have started a new relationship with a lovely little brook and things are really looking good for us. I am going to start seeing her more and more.... Good luck with all your endevors, Flyflinger PS: Don't call me. There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit

Good luck with all your endevors, Flyflinger PS: Don't call me. Now that you two broke up, I must confess something. I was seeing her too. Sure, they were just quickies to wet my line because of her proximity, but I too always left feeling shortchanged. She was a Siren calling---c'mon, I'm only an hour away--but I always left feeling dirty. Perhaps because I knew she was yours all along. But either way, I found someone new, and I hope you forgive me.
ozark trout fisher Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Good choice. I just don't think the fishing is very good down there. On one or two occasions it has been good to me, but most of the time it's an uphill battle just to find a couple fish. Maybe the habitat isn't good or maybe I'm just fishing it wrong, but anytime I fish the Meramec it's gonna be between the park and Dry Fork. It is a pretty appealing stretch of river at first sight, but the water is just too warm there in the summer. I just don't think there is much potential for significant carryover there. I may just be done with Meramec trout altogether. The Current is well worth the extra hour- and if I don't have that extra hour, I'll choose Blue Spring instead.

Good luck with all your endevors, Flyflinger PS: Don't call me. Dear Flyflinger, I am glad you zipped back up your fly. I don't miss you either. As you already know, me and my dirty little step-sister, Suicide Hill, have long been seeing other boys. Mostly local boys. They treat us right, bring us juicy nightcrawlers and neon powerbait, and we let them give us hickies in the backseats of their jetboats like Rizzo in Grease. You just bring us cracklebacks and your tiny little San Juans, and whip my waters with your high dollar buggy whips, which makes me and my sister laugh mostly. Grow up and call us when you reach puberty. Signed, Cardiac and Suicide PS - Paul Dallas is the only fly-fisherman that really knows how to love us right.
flyfishmaster Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I'm assuming those were Dear Jon Boat letters? Very entertaining... Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!

ollie Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Never fished either, but I think I get the jest! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
joeD Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Fishing sucking at Cardiac? Shocking! Don't say I didn't warn ya. Not catching fish there must be catnip to a lot of flyfishermen. Funny post though Ollie.
