Trav Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 The tourney guys are fishing a three day thing. Still haven’t heard any news on weigh-ins or who is sponsoring it. The lake has been hammered with fishing pressure the past few days. We put in at Hermitage again this afternoon. Headed straight up the Pomme arm only to have the lower unit on my boat go out. What a bummer that was. Did fish some as we trolled to the state park where we met my father with my trailer. Water temps up the Pomme arm are a bit warmer than the Lindley Arm was yesterday. They ranged between 75 to 77 degrees. We did manage to catch eleven Largemouths so the trip wasn’t a complete loss. For the second day it was black wiggle warts catching the most. Flysmallie Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 That sucks about the boat. But since you can"t go out and fish, how about you drive over to Bolivar landing and tell me if I can unload there.
conman Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Anyone been out for bass recently? Where would you start this weekend? Thanks Chris
Jbrant Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Was down a week ago Saturday and again last Thursday. Caught 26 keepers in the two trips - almost half of them longer than 15". Had a couple that went 3 1/2#'s. Caught the majority of them on jigs - the first day mainly shallow (2'-4') and the second day a little deeper (6'-10'). Caught them from main lake points to the backs of pockets. Lots of baitfish in the coves - but we've done better with the scattered baitfish (instead of the areas where they were really thick). Water temp was about 60 and it's 5' low (lots of things to see with the water down).
conman Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Thanks Jbrant, what part of the lake were you fishing? Has the lake begun to turnover? I am really ready to get out this weekend. Jbrant Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 We fished from the Nemo bridge on the Lindley to just past Lightfoot on the Pomme side. Most of our time was spent in the lower lake though. Not sure about the turnover. The first time we were down I thought the water was pretty cloudy/murky even though there was some visibilty. I thought it had cleared up some be the second trip - not sure if that is turnover related or not.
conman Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I got to fish Sat Sun and Monday this weekend. We had 30+ both Sat and Sunday mostly on the jig, very shallow on timber. The 20+ mph winds kept us prety much in the coves. Picked up a few crankbait and buzzbait fish, but the goto was the jig. Monday was a bit tougher with the total closer to 20. With as much wind as we had I was sure the spinnerbait bite would start, but had absolutly no luck. The nice thing is that now half of the fish are keepers and nearly a forth of the fish caught go over 15".
