We have been talking about this issue forever it seems like and today I found a survey card in the mailbox when I got home. It is from the MDC wanting a survey of 4 choices asking if I had caught any smallies or g-eyes this year. Then at the bottom if I answered yes to any of the questions then they would send a questionnaire. Could this be a scam or the real deal? I am hoping this will lead to a positive review of how our smallies are managed in our streams throughout the state. Anyone else get one?

Got mine, too. They sent one all the way up to Joetown.

It wasn't that long ago, that I would see some political poll results on a news show, and "ask who are these people that they polled"? "They never asked me." Then a few years ago, I was polled during some election. I was happy to give my opinion. My father used to use the old adage, "becareful for what you wish for, it may come true". ... Well, now it seems that I'm polled several times a week. Of course, the call comes at the most inconvenient time. .. ie. trying to sleep in, or watch a game. Now, I notice that usually halfway through the poll, I can tell which party or candidate's people, is taking the poll. It seems that the political "polls", aren't so much poll, but are poltical messages, trying to swing your vote to their candidate or their side of the issue. Some questions sound more like a mini infomercial. Or as I call them, mini "misinformation" commercial, then an actual question. .. Granted it is a smart tactic. But, dishonest and the "polls" couldn't be accurate. I believe that they are now using them as political tools. ... Anyway, my wife either hangs up or hands me the phone. I've started declining some polls or when I smell a rat, I hang up. I'll do any unbias poll, as long as they are legit.

Anyway, I'm getting off subject.

.. I think a few of you feel left out for not getting the survey. I know that I would. I can see where your coming from. It's pretty rare to get a survey on smallies. But, I don't smell a rat. I figure if my data can do some good, then I'll definitely take part.
