Why would anyone want to do this? Can you eat them?

Interesting, just guessing you didn't grow up in the Ozarks?

Questionable Activity Not sure what they were doing?

Depends, did they have any fruit in their dashboard? ;)

Snagging suckers...now I have heard it all. Why would anyone want to do this?

I can't answer that question for you.

As long as they are legal, and only going after rough fish, I guess I don't have a problem with it. But it's pretty rude to do it in any area like Baptist Camp where you'll be messing up the fishing for a lot of other people. Nothing against snaggers-you just shouldn't fish crowded water in a way that is going to ruin the fishing for the next guy that comes through.

A father/son team were doing this in upper Tan Vat, through the whole stretch down to the parking lot on 10/10 when I fished the stretch. I didn't know what they were doing, but after this description, it seems like that was it.

No..most of the fish we eat are Crappie,Bluegill or Catfish. So the idea is to snag as many as you can so you can throw a big fish fry? Wouldn't you somtimes snag the wrong kind of fish?

Snagging (or grabbing) for nongame fish runs from 15 March - 15 May and also from 15 Sept. through the end of the January. Although gigging is not allowed in Blue Ribbon Trout areas, snagging is.

Sucker snagging is a popular activity on the upper Current..Nothing unusual about it. The season opens on Sept 15th. You can get your sucker pluckers from Bass Pro for a couple bucks...Its harder than it looks. Cheers.

Why, if you "catch" the wrong one you just release it! Spoonbill snaggers apparently routinely "release" fish.. Or so I'm told.

Believe it.... Or Not.

Correct..once again your able to spell it out for me. Yet..what if you snag a fish thats illegle to snag? Prehaps..you snag a large brown trout thru the gills? Maybe a 3lb smallmouth right thru the eye? What the heck though...I was trying to snag some suckers...toss me a Natty lite.

What???? How is a grabber supposed to know when the next guy will be coming through? I'd say first come first served. Should we just close all waters in this state to only the holy flyflinger? I know that is not what you are saying or even meaning, its just when you read something like that it widens that cavern between the fly fisherman and the spin/bait fisherman.
