First, we appreciate the ideas and support. Just a quick update, the "agency" VocRehab was using went out of business so starting over. But the new outfit seems to be trying hard. He has been doing volunteer work and keeping busy. We just keep praying he finds a job he can 'fit" in. DChance contrary to what many folks say the "special needs" Teachers are trying their best but with the "no child left behind" mess many of these kids get trampled in the herd. Just stay involved and supportive and don't limit his opportunities.

thanks for the advice griz. We are blessed and fortunate that we are both teachers and it seems his handicaps are physical. He never ceases to amaze me.

What about a golf course? If he can drive then he can run a range picker, and it seems that golf courses always need someone to clean carts and that type of stuff. I don't know how close you guys live to one but I know that hiring season is upon them. I would think it would have to be better than working at Wal-Mart as he would be outside a lot, and the work is not physically tough. I know the course that I worked at the cart staff mainly ran carts up and down, cleaned them and charged the batteries. Doesn't pay much and he probably would be out of work during the winter as most jobs are seasonal, but it is a place where he can get to know people. We were always more concerned with making sure the kids showed up, and since we hired teenage brats that was always difficult. Just a thought, and it is an industry that will be hiring right now. Good luck.
