minnowhooker Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Went yesterday the water was glass calm in the morning could not buy a bite. The afternoon salvaged it I ended up with 5 crappie and 2 walleye on minnows and jigs around State Park. Water temp has really dropped since last week 43 to 45 on graph. I hope it doesn't freeze over this winter.
straw hat Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Good trip! WOW You are right. The water teperature has dropped a lot! I echo your concern about freezing over. Next week looks even colder then this week. There is even a chance of snow on Saturday. If the weatherman is right the water temperature will continue to drop rapidly.
Dutch Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That is more of a drop than I had thought. I was there on Friday in the L and B Sac arms and found 50° water. With the prediction I think I'd better get there before the weekend. The fish I caught were already quite deep and may even be deeper by now.
Members clf989s Posted December 9, 2010 Members Posted December 9, 2010 It was 40.4 degrees in the very back of Son's Creek by the boat ramp. My equipment might be off a degree or two because it's a little old, but I can tell you first hand the water was very cold. Just ask my frozen feet. First time all year I forget my rubber boots and it just happens to be the coldest day.
