Sorry this post got off on a tangent..I am ONLY concerned with the high winds- not boat wakes. I have not owned property on a lake before so naturally when I hear winds in the upper 40s w/ gusts in the 50s, I am concerned. Thats all I was asking.

I would be too. I would hate to have my boat possibly hurt due to high winds.

You can run as fast as you want as long as you are between the buoys. (I'm talking Aunts Creek because it's got docks with buoys on both sides)......Any similar areas would be the same. As long as don't leave a big wake INSIDE the no wake buoy, you are not breaking any law or regulations. You don't have to stay "a certain distance" from the no wake buoys. Just don't go between the buoy and the dock it's for..I deal with both sides of this issue. The main thing / complaint is that it's usually not the 30 footers that cause the damage and problems. It's the 40, 50, & 60 footers that really wreck the docks. Bass boats are way down the list and sea doo's, as irritating as they may be, don't hurt docks, unless, of course, they crash into it......lol.....Wind really is a whole different deal. The dock roofs and structure are like a big sail...It's not so much the waves as it is the lateral pressure put on the dock cables that do the most wind damage.....How much pressure can a 5/8 dia cable take when it's been under water for three, four, five years or more ?? Nobody knows....Wish I did. Might make some money.....lol

Thanks for the reply. I have been going faster than no wake, but wasn't going all out either. I try to go slower the skinnier the creek gets. Kinda used common sense. Just wanted to make sure wasn't doing anything wrong.

Everybody fighting around x mass. I have been on both sides of this story, just find a happy medium. I fish march - june, then I take my family ski and tube rest of summer. As for the big boats head up to cape fair or down to Holiday Island or just pick the best days.I have owned everthing from ski boats to jet skis to bass boats, Just try to get along.. PS- If you would stay off point 10 I would be grateful-ha ha

Billfo. Now is the time to set up the camera. I'm stuck at work right now and wishing I was there. Camera would be the next best thing.

So, if I ever get computer literate, I"ll put one on my deck.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
