Dutch Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I may have overstated locally made, in all probability batteries like many other things likely come from one or two suppliers. I meant that with them being local their service is very good and they take good care of fisherman. Sorry. :-) OK I see. Thanks. I looked them up and they are not local for me. It is over an hour drive to Golden or Joplin.
Stump bumper Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 A little known fact about Battery Outfitters is that they carry factory blimishes that have the lables torn off and you can get them at half the price. They only have a one year warrenty but I think they are just as good as the regular Pro guides.

Once a year they have a big sale but normally it is a come on with few in stock.
motoman Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I'll go out on a limb here and throw in my 2 cents. Myself and several buddies have always used Ya'll-Mart Everstart batteries. Never had any problems with them over 15+ years of us using them. - My one buddy fishes EVERY weekend, all night through the summer. So his get more of a workout than mine. He's pushed them a little to far a few times, and had them finally give up the ghost in the middle of the night. Nice thing is, he just runs to the 24 hour Ya'll-Mart, swaps 'em out, and is back on the water for a few more hours of fishing before dawn. - I know..............I know...............they're not the higher end ones mentioned above. But they've served us well.

So many people across the USA have gone back for new ones that many stores only warranty deep cycles until you get off the parking lot.
Sam Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I know there are other good batteries, but for the past 17 years or so I've run Delco Voyager marine batteries in my boat. K-Mart used to carry those, and now they're available in Bumper-to-Bumper auto parts stores. The regular price is a little over $100, but they go on sale every spring for about $80. The Delco Voyagers have all lasted me at least five years, and more often six or seven years. I only run a 40 fp trolling motor, but my trolling battery will keep it going all day or night, even at the higher speeds when it's windy. I've been real satisfied with Delco marine batteries and intend to keep using them.

They are sold though Sam's Club also, so does that make them WAL_MARX garbage now?
