FishinCricket Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Not that Gore is relevant to this discussion, and certainly it isn't relevant whether or not he claimed to have invented the internet, but... He never claimed that. Here's the story from Snopes: My link Al, saying that Al Gore invented the Internet is just a clever way of weeding out the total nincompoops.. (cause only a total baffoon would believe that!) Thank goodness for snopes though, I gotta tell ya... cricket.c21.com
Gatorjet Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 according to a bunch of smart guys at MIT. The same ones that were emailing back and forth about faking their findings to fit with the global warming claims? Oh, I forgot, the politicians came out to do a little cya and said that they weren't really faking the results. Yep, keep drinking the Goreaid. End industrialization, end transportation, end jobs, end the economy. We all end up wet and cold living in grass huts, Or in the Government provided housing units, working at the Government mandated job, for the Government set wage, getting our food from the Government commissary, and trying to enjoy ourselves with Governm, ent approved activities! FAUX News... Faultlessly Accurate Uterly (E)xaulted News. Hey you got something right! Real men go propless!

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Tim Smith Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Another post that is bordering on the side of the paranoid schitzophrenic. It's a constant in these debates. The same ones that were emailing back and forth about faking their findings to fit with the global warming claims? It wasn't politicians who cleared the Penn State and East Anglian scientists, it was a panel of scientists who analyze data for a living and whose funding depends on maintaining their integrity. Tell you what, gator...why don't you post a fake finding someone emailed back and forth. Painting climate change as a left/right issue is a complete dodge. Science is about data and logic, not partisan politics. You've been fed a mountain of bull about climate change science and I'm still waiting for you to post even one thing about it that is factually correct. On the other hand, you probably should be worried aobut policy, because it is vastly less clear cut how that is going to turn out. The private sector has by far the biggest role to play in how this plays out...unless they're too committed to their paranoid fantasies to engage logically in the discussion.
