Does anyone use Mini Tippet Rings? Saw them on J Stockton's website and was wondering if they are worth trying. They are very small rings used to tie a tippet to a leader, but to me the only thing I think I would save is tippet knot material. However, doing a modified blood knot on a ring in the water might be easier than a double blood knot splice. Just curious?

Probably won't work for dry flies.

I use a triple surgeons knot for my leader to tippet knot.

Most that I know of use them making furled leaders for easily attaching tippet. and those lil rings work fine with the drys.

Loop to Loop leader to tippet, always have always will....

I used to use the loopdy-do thing until I could no longer see that 6x tippet where it entered the leader loop. Tying a surgeons knot is hard enough but still manageable unless my hands are frozen.

I haven't used them but a few times this past spring and I'm satiafied with them. I only started using them because of arthritus in my fingers made

retying a chore. But I've only used them with dry flies down to size 12. This year I only fly fished for bluegill. Has anyone used them with sall dries for trout.

I've used them and like them up to a point. IF and WHEN you break off that mini ring while on the water, tying on another one can be a bitch.

Tim showed me how to make tying on tippet rings a snap. Just put them on a safety pin and pin to your vest. And, yes, you can float small dry flys with them. Just grease them up

The tippet rings work really good with dries or nymphs I just ordered 2000 more of them

I sell a lot of them, I use the 2mm size, but the 3&4mm will work
