Guest Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Tornados happen 3-4 times a year... And we already know what causes THAT. Well blackbirds and drum aren't known to kill people, unless you eat grilled drum... Anyone, have a good drum recipe? or blackbird pie?
Tim Smith Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Well blackbirds and drum aren't known to kill people, unless you eat grilled drum... Anyone, have a good drum recipe? or blackbird pie? Hear a Reuters report of more dead birds in KY. Still don't know why. ...but if you're going to do a blackbird pie, I hear you'll need 4 and 20 of them. But they're supposed to sing once you serve it. From the looks of those birds, they're going to be a little flat.
fishinwrench Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Well blackbirds and drum aren't known to kill people, unless you eat grilled drum... Anyone, have a good drum recipe? or blackbird pie? Well, I'm kinda fond of red-winged blackbirds. I love that song they sing, and where they sit when singing it.
Thom Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Well, I'm kinda fond of red-winged blackbirds. I love that song they sing, and where they sit when singing it. Interesting fact: Redwing Blackbirds are a protected species and considered song birds. All others are fair game year around. Thom Harvengt
fishinwrench Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Interesting fact: Redwing Blackbirds are a protected species and considered song birds. All others are fair game year around. See there ! So I think a thorough (no BS) investigation is warranted. They spend a hell of a lot more time and money researching far less important things. And I'd like to know the truth. You can bet your hind-end if it was Ducks and Smallmouth there would be some genuine concern. Getting sick and slowly dying is one thing...but to just die mid-flight within a certain space...for no apparent reason, that needs to be looked into seriously IMO News people saying "wow that was wierd...but we'll probably never know", just doesn't set well with me.

jdmidwest Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I heard one theory today, the blackbirds are not used to migrating at night, got disorientated and flew into the ground. AFGC weekly today reported on both incidents, still investigating, no leads. Seems like there were a few white bass and other species in the fish kill.
