eric1978 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 How I waste my money on other matters really has no relevance on this topic first of all. Secondly, if everyone feels that they are underfunded (as most of you state on this forum repeatdly) then by all means feel free to send them donations. Last I checked they still take them. And if you think the cost of a license is too high, feel free to not purchase one. Last I checked it wasn't mandated by law that you fish.

Last I checked it wasn't mandated by law that you fish. Eric: Do you feel that some of the poorest fish illegally due to the increased cost of licensing? Should the lowest income earners be subsidized by higher ones so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the resources that they own? We are the state and the state owns the resources and not MDC right?
eric1978 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Eric: Do you feel that some of the poorest fish illegally due to the increased cost of licensing? No, I feel that some of the poorest people fish illegally because they don't have any money, let alone a computer to purchase things online at home. And there are plenty of others who actually have money and licenses and poach in other ways because they're not gonna let the government tread on them and tell them what they can or can't do. Just because you're broke doesn't give you the right to poach, but let's not pretend it's the outrageous cost of a license that keeps these people from buying one...most of them still wouldn't buy one if it was only 5 bucks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all MDC is doing is giving you the option to buy your license online, for an additional fee of 1 or 2 dollars? You can still go to Walmart if you want right? So what's the big problem? It's a DOLLAR, and you don't have to spend it if you wanna stand in line instead! Or you can not fish at all, whatever.

Or if you think the cost of a license is too high, maybe a new hobby. I see a lot of complaints about enforcement and I wonder just how many agents would it take in your opinion, those voicing the complaint, to properly patrol the 69,000+ square miles? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 69,000? I believe your answer is very close to the truth. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
