The FlW will be on the lake early this year and lake is still going down, hard to say yet water the water will look like but I am thinking they will be here before the spring rains.

I am thinking that the pro's that can use jerk baits and wake baits will rule this year, maybe a drop shot pattern on deep trees if the water doesn't warm up enough.

I think it will be possible to find 15lb bags but I see a lot of zeros coming up also. It is going to be a different Beaver than they have fished in awhile.

I think some will pull closer to 18-20lb bags once they are dialed in but those guys will make the top 5. The top 10 will vary from 12-15lb bags average.

Of course I'm pulling for Greg Bohannon since he's the local pro. He knows the lake well and has won many tournaments on it. I think he was in 3rd place a few years back.

I think the fish will push up shallow by early march or staging on drop offs near spawning areas. Those that can establish the pattern for fish that shift from shallow to dropoffs at a moments notice will have a shot at winning.

Just check the rules and they have between now and the 14th then 27 feb-1 Mar to pre fish so this should be interesting. Water temps were in the high 30s last week when the weather was nice and now winter has arrived and looks like it will be here for a few weeks.

I wish it would warm up. Beaver has always gotten a bad rep due to unusual weather conditions over the last few years. Locals now its a fine lake and it has good potential on the tournament trail for 15lb+ bags. I hope it can at least make to 50 before the tournament. Don't see how at this point.

Looks like drop shot and downscan sonar will win this one.

I didn't think they was coming back to Beaver? ?

Walmart came back in as a sponser, that in turn brought back a lot more big name sponser's thus the home of Walmart has to be on the tour. At that level it's all about the green and I don't meen bass.

Not complaining, there are a lot of fisherman who will be able to "live the dream" now due to those sponsers.

Shoot, it'd be nice if the air temps got up into the 50's by then! :D

I'm betting jerk baits are big producers this year.

I've seen a lot of 6-8lb bass this winter from people pulling cranks for stripers so I would not count a deep big crank bait if they find some big fish suspended on points. I can never fish that pattern, but it did pay off on the cold Table Rock FLW last year.

Looks like a good cold front hitting the 1st of March, I saw on 40/29 news there is a good chance of snow and this week has a lot of below freezing nights that is not going to slow down the shad kill or bring up any pre spawners. There has been some big bags brought up on Table Rock under these conditions, but Beaver sure isn't Table Rock, I sure will be watching what is tied on the rods when these guys get to weigh in. :cold:
