Gavin Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Looks nice...but it doesnt store much and the top is kind of dark...I'd probably put some white laminate over the tying area for better visabiltiy, and finish the rest with tung so it doesnt have that cypress wood table from the 1970's look. Plus you can always re-laminate it after the surface gets glue, paint, etc. on it. Cheers.

It does not need to store much, it sits under a Gerstner type wooden tool box that contains the material, which is all on a rolling computer stand with storage underneath. Instead of putting white laminate on it, I have a back plate for the vise that gives plenty of backlight. jdmidwest Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Finished product before all the crap fills it up. I made a bead holder out of one of the pieces of walnut. I ended up using 4 coats of Formby's low gloss tung oil and it made a pretty slick finish. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S.
