Members Pounce
Big Cedar made me angry, so I cancelled my reservations. To make a long story short, I booked one of the cabins for $177 a night. When they e-mailed my confirmation, they charged me $350 per night. My wife is very disappointed Are there any cabins for rent on T.R. that compare to their cabins? Fireplace, jacuzzi, beautiful setting, lake access, etc. I would like to stay in the $150 per night range. Dates would be Feb 21st - 24th. Thanks. Members Pounce
To be fair; they did offer to re-adjust the price. I told them no, since I have the feeling that they do this hoping the customer doesn't check.
denjac
Might try Stillwaters resort. They are on Indian point. No stores or eateries on site like Big Cedar though. Chateau on the Lake would be another on. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Heinlein I think I'd call Big Cedar back and get the $177. price.

Members ChiefTIm
Try the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks. They have gorgeous rooms with fireplaces, etc. A great restaurant.

dtrs5kprs
Maybe one of the B&B's if the Big Cedar amenities and luxury were your main goals. I stay at Schooner Creek in Kimberling and love it, but I fish more than I recline in luxury. www.whiteriverlodgebb.com That is the one that comes to my mind first. Ranger Z22
You may want to try stone water cove, which is up the James. Looks very impressive from the lake, never been there, or give Bill Babler a call and stay at his bed and breakfast. My wife and I had a yearly trip to big cedar, which we stop going, not friendly, rooms were getting worse each year, and on and on. z22

I've decided to stay at White River Lodge. Thanks everybody.
