ColdWaterFshr Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Is it legal to take a canoe out on the upper White at night?
laker67 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Is it legal to take a canoe out on the upper White at night? They do drift boats quite often, I would say yes to legal, but no to ten units of generation.
gotmuddy Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I can see no reason why it would be illegal, but why would you? everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
flytyer57 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Just make sure ya got navigation lights or you could (although most likely not) end up in trouble there. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I have never seen a boat on the water when it is dark. It is usually just me. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
taxidermist Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Yes its legal, but you must have navigation lights as mentioned. It does not matter if its a rubber raft at night you must have nav lights. I would also recommend a good spotlight! That sucker gets dark at night really dark. even under a fullmoon its dark.
John Berry Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 It is legal (with proper navigation lights) but not a good idea. The White is the 6th most dangerous body of water in the United States. There are loads of rocks, trees and other obstacles just under the water level, which is constantly changing. Many people get in trouble when they can see where they are going.
