Black River around Lesterville used to be a zoo. And there is something about doing destructive motorized recreational activity that attracts what my momma would say is "the wrong crowd", because back then there were campgrounds that catered to the idiots that were far from family friendly. I once watched a Jeep full of yahoos, all carrying high powered rifles, driving up the middle of the river and stopping at every rootwad, where one of them would jump out, shove the rifle barrel underwater around the roots, touch off a round or two, and see what would come floating up from the concussion. Meanwhile, there had to be 50 ATVs and custom vehicles buzzing around within sight of those guys. It was pretty much anarchy.

Now, in Missouri it still happens, but it's not right out in the open. But that's one of the reasons the Park Service wants to close unauthorized roads around the Current and Jacks Fork...they give the idiots an easy way to the river away from established accesses, and then they drive up and down the gravel bars. I've seen a lot of damage on the Jacks Fork between Bay Creek and Alley in recent years from ATV abuse.

That video was shot on private land and not on any flowing stream. It is a slough in marshall tx.

That's good to hear... "River Rats" and "River Run" is a bit of a misleading name then, eh? (sure does look like a flowing waterway)

Either way you kids are still tearing the hell outta stuff, eh? You wouldn't believe how glad I am to hear that this is all happening in another state.. Missouri is too pretty for this stuff...

That video is in a wet weather swamp outside jacksonville tx. The park borders the neches river and they strictly enforce a no riding policy in the river. The other video was shot in marshall tx at a hunting club that isn't on a river but it has a creek that is geologically impossible to ride in.

River rats is near the sabine river.
