by the time I get there in March? As hard as your getting hammered, I'm starting to wonder. On the bright side, it's supposed to be a nice weekend:)

The old saying is March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, judging by this year that would be a foot of snow and half a foot of ice.

Supposed to get up to another 8" in the Lake area today and the way it's coming down right now I believe it. However, temps in the mid 50's are forecast for the late weekend and a nice warmup for next week so that should melt it all......until the next one !

Ype getting pummeled here in Bella Vista, watching the weather last night, they were saying 3-5 inches, lol, more like 13-15!

It's snowing today, but that'll be gone next week. Highs in the 50's are predicted this weekend and after. We could get more snow by your trip in March, of course - there's no telling.

Going by past years, chances are good that the ground will be snow-free and the weather OK for a March trip. If your trip does get messed up by weather, chances are that it'd be by rain, not snow. It seems like about one year out of three around here we get real heavy rains in March and April, getting the rivers and lakes up high and muddy. The Corps has let the lakes get real low now, which makes me wonder if they've done that expecting heavy spring rains.

The snow melt will raise lake levels with very cold water, but not as high or as brown as if it were a hard rain.

The key to your March trip is whether we get another one right before you arrive. While not impossible, that is improbable.

Saw the "official" snowfall map NOAA Springfield has on their website for the Feb. 9th event. Don't know how they come up with these numbers but they show only 2 to 3 inches of snowfall in the Mid-Lake area.

Using the old fashioned "Stick-a-ruler-in-it" method in several carefully chosen level areas of the property where I knew all the previous snow had melted to bare ground, we got 6.5 inches. No drifting occurred as there was very little wind.

At 6:30 it's -3 degrees and very heavy fog off the lake has coated everything with freezing fog which should be spectacular when the Sun comes up.

We got 7 to 9 inches yesterday on the west side of Cow Creek...depending on where you check with the ruler. The Berryville, Ar. area got 9 to 10 inches....My friend that lives south of Eureka Springs got 17 inches.
