Is that Co Rd 733/736 to Doe Bambi Rd?

Not sure about the "Doe Bambi Rd" but the 733/736 is right. Just watch for the sign to the access. And I do mean watch for the sign. It's kinda hard to see unless you're looking for it, and if the brush is up, you won't see it.

I just Googled "Doe Bambi Rd." and yes, that is it.

You better watch the weather other wise you will have a hell of a drag from the lower access to just above White river. Crooked creek sinks into the huge amounts of gravel in that stretch. There are times when there is enough water to float it, but the brush will beat the hell out of you! Strainers some yakers and canoe guys call them.

Have you floated that stretch? Is it worth the work? What level should the river be at Kelly's to make it floatable?

Went down to the lower access on Crooked Creek today and fouind out that it is not "Doe Bambi Rd" that you are looking for. It's "Shannon Ln."

Attached is a pic of the road sign and what the view is of the turn off. Also a pic of what the creek looks like right now. It is very low.

CC is really seldom floatable below Flippin. If its Crooked Creek that you want to float There is a lot better places to do that.

I think that ramp was a waste of money. Having looked at the ramp in person, it looks like to me if the water was high enough to actually launch and use a motored boat in that section that the flow would be very high and the water would likely be very off colored. A canoe or kayak could have been launched off of a more primative set up.

I've been on that section when there was enough water to fish, but the flow was so high that fishing would be difficult. We were not very successful because the water was too cold for the fish to be in that much current. Warm water fish anyway. It was a very interesting run downstream though.

You are correct about that boat ramp.

So what is it like going down from the Lower Access to the White? Is it pretty much a do-able thing? Or is pretty much just like upstream toward Hwy 101 where there's mostly gravel and willow thickets?

The ramp was put in because the state had the money. It serves no other purpose.

I "think" there are water levels that would allow for fishing/floating that wouldn't be too brushy. The trip I was on brush and strainers were not a factor, but it had a high pucker factor because of water velocity and LARGE boulders in the heavy flow.

In all honesty, I don't think that trip is worth the trouble. I don't have any interest in doing it again.

IMO, much better fishing on others sections of CC and a dozen other creeks and streams.
