Well,

Made it down to the Blue Springs this morning and had my best day on the creek. I brought over 20 to hand to include a couple of nice 6 to 8 inchers. I also lost a hog. It had the pole doubled over. I had it out of the hole twice, and it shot back in each time. The big guy finally got me into the rocks and split my line. There wasn't a hatch to speak of so nymphs were the call, but I caught at least one on everything I tried. Brassies were the best overall. I ran into another guy, and he had brought over twenty also. Just a great day.

There wasn't one. I brought in fish from every hole...even holes I haven't had any luck in before. More of a catching day versus fishing.

Nice report Mic. I'll bet that was a blast. I should have made it down there this weekend. Somehow I let my friends talk me into a round of golf. Big mistake on my part. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Pretty fish. I love those small wild rainbows.

Blue Springs is a well known spring creek... Not a secret at all and I don't see any harm in posting reports about it as long as you don't give specific location info which I don't see in this report. There are at least four accesses on it and three miles of public water...And according to the MDC nearly 300 trout per mile- so its not like the fish population is so fragile that a couple extra fisherman are going to do it in. I don't see the danger in posting a report about it.

Mic, I like your reports, but honesly I think you might give that tiny little creek too much press. Just sayin'.

i respectfully disagree. I fish and I post. I fish Blue Springs because it is the closest. But...don't worry, I'll be expanding my horizons once spring arrives. I will get the trailer out for weekends which expands my radius. One day I hope to fish every blue stream in the state.

Most fisherman I know don't like to fish water where the average hole/chute is 4 foot by 6 foot, holes are covered in all kinds of thickets, the average fish is five inches or less, the average distance between holes is 50 to 100 yards, holes will shut down at the least little shadow, and one can go down the road a little to Little Piney and/or Mermac. If you read the reports, this is the first time I've caught more than a few fish. I'm not worried about it being overrun by a swarm of fisherman.

I'd be willing to bet, if you compensate mic well enough he might not post reports on your favorite streams. Otherwise keep posting your reports mic from the waters you get the chance to fish and I will do the same.
