ollie Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Went down on Sunday morning for a little fishing and first thing I came across was this! Now I have seen my share of trucks and cars in the water before, but this one was a first for me at Capps. Talked to the young man who wrecked his truck and he was ok, but said he fell asleep at the wheel. I waited for a little while and finally a wrecker showed up. It wasn't big enough for the job! They had to get a diesel wrecker that could pick it up from the bridge. I didn't wait around for that. I headed upstream and fished for a couple of hours hitting all the holes on the way up. I have been noticing a lot of campfires down there lately and it makes me mad! There definetly aren't many more fish in those holes where they have camped. I ended up catching 3 trout, some eyes, and one bass. Best color for me was a ginger/black combo I tie. Finally got bored not catching much so I headed home around noon. Buzz Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 At least there weren't any major injuries. He's lucky he cleared the edge of the bridge and all of the trees. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
strangercreek Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I don't get it. I don't see a trail from the road to where the truck sits. Was he driving along the bank?
ollie Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 I know, it looks staged doesn't it? He just barely missed the concrete guard rail and bounced off the trees as he was going down. Claims he really didn't know what happened until he hit the water. David Unnerstall Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 And I have always said: "You can lead a truck to water but you can't make him drink."
