Gavin Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Its in poor taste to speculate on the supply of $30 japanese jerkbaits considering that many people in Japan people are trying to find a supplies of clean water, food, shelter & dealing with loss. Lets pull the plug on this one.
troutfiend1985 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Chambug, I think you are reading Larry's post wrong. I don't think he posted "stock up now" as a way to help the Japanese people in their plight.. I think he posted stock up now "or tomorrow you may not be able to buy your favorite (Japanese made) lure anymore"... Oh, puh-leeeeeze... Come off it, you sound like some kinda elitist dillhole when you say it like that.. Try "There's something magical about fishing with a fly rod that you just don't get until you experience it" or "you guys just dot know what your missing!" Just sayin'.... Could not have said it better. Both were right on. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis

Gary Lange Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I don't buy them at the prices they are now so it is unlikely that I will purchase them at an even more inflated price. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
gotmuddy Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 You couldn't pry a $10 bill out my hands for any lure. thats why I usually outfish you everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
flytyer57 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 thats why I usually outfish you No. I just don't throw my $6 crankbaits into the root wads along the river. How did it feel to lose that $25 crank the first time you went out and fished it? I'm happy with the few I pick up off the outside of those root wads. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
flytyer57 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 ...sorry but real fishing to me is not standing next to some dork in a tailwater situation shoulder to shoulder but neither is siting in a beautiful cove in my boat trying to admire nature as a bunch of half cocked bass boats buzz fromm spot to spot with no regard for the waves they propel out towards anyone much less the noise... There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
FishinCricket Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 You're right....I should have been more considerate. I didn't realize the issue was the supply of lures rather than aid for the victims. I figured as much... But I wouldn't call it an "issue", just the topic at hand. And what the heck is a dillhole? A word that children use when they don't wanna get swatted for cursing... Anyway.... cricket.c21.com
Al Agnew Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 You know, guys, I just don't go in for the gloom and doom. Yes, the Japanese people are going through a horrible time with massive loss of life, massive loss of housing and property and livelihood. I feel deeply for them, and I will probably donate money to relief agencies, as I did for Haiti, etc. But, that does not mean I'm going to go around moping, being serious all the time, and wondering whether my most innocent statements are in poor taste considering the plight of Japan. Japan is over there, I'm over here, and I don't personally know anybody in Japan. So I thought the original post was informative, and maybe gave people something to consider if they like the Japanese lures. The jokes are in poor taste, but I'm not going to sweat it.
