GloryDaze Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Speaking of keeping smallies, I have a question for you guys. We kept leap-frogging this group of 3 guys throughout our 3 day trip. They all had their own kayaks and were all fishing- the second night, we were setting up camp along the river and along they came floating down the river. We asked them how they were doing and one guy pulled up a stringer on his boat and showed us 6 smallies they were having for dinner. Here's my question- I know the limit is 2 per person with a minimum of 14" per day. However, is it legal for one person to be in posession of all 6, or are they supposed to be in posession of only 2per person?? Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory

I suspect that since they were in separate boats, it would have been highly illegal for that one guy to have six. Supposedly the law is that even if there are two guys in the same boat, they either need two stringers or some other way of labeling who's fish are who's.

BTW, if they were below rush the limit is 1 and 18" everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
bobber Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 fishing isn't poor by any means. you are just going down the same section that everyone does! we had 1.5 million floaters last year. yes big fish are harder to find but the river changes every time it floods. or with a rise in levels. you also have to consider last year the river was just about dry. from the 2nd. week in june .it was too low to float. and by august even the lower section of river was dead . but seeing fishing rules/laws is wrong and i would have wiped out the cell phone and make the call! yes game and fish are stretched thin, and will be more so with the state we are in ,so do your part turn them in! 1-888-692-1162 this is the hot line for anything in the national park system. lock the number in your cell you never know when you miht need it! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
