Members crawpytime1 Posted March 21, 2011 Members Posted March 21, 2011 If u had one color of crankbait to throw on the Rock what would it be? I know there are certain colors on other lakes that work best just wasn't sure about the Rock.

I know there are certain colors on other lakes that work best just wasn't sure about the Rock. There are too many variables to be able to stick to one color. Under most conditions, it's hard to beat v62 & v63 and v37 & v38. If it's more stained, watermelon or hot tiger are good. In real clear conditions, the phantom craw colors might work better.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 As in wiggle wart color numbers. All the wart craw colors will work, gives you about 5 or so to pick up. Greens or browns all over the lake, esp from Baxter to dam, V38 (kind of an odd shiny green) or the red craw up the rivers.
Members crawpytime1 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Members Posted March 21, 2011 I'm familiar with the 4 hot colors of wiggle warts. I was more curious about late spring thru the summer month crankbaits. Ur Bombers,Bandits and Lucky crafts.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Only ones I have thrown after the wart bite cools are DD22's and big fat free shad/strike kings in shad or chartreuse colors. Brushpile bite, but I am not very good at it. Norman's lavender shad, nutter shad, chromes, chart/brown back, etc. Not sure it really matters on the color, more important to hit the brushpile correctly.
techo Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I always have the crawdad color ones BUT it seems like my partner catches them on the green ones and I switch to that color. Logic tells me crawdad color with a splash of red for blood, but fish say different. Tim Carpenter
Sore Thumbs Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 You can't go wrong with a Lucky Craft RC 1.5 in White with Black Splatter back or Chartruese black back.
BrianS Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 In the event of a hard rain and mud is going down the rivers I like the 209 wart HOOK 'EM HORNS
