troutbum479 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Caught this fish Sunday morning and released it back unharmed. The creek fished good and is starting to clear up. Lots of trash on the banks. arkmoflyfishing.blogspot.com http://okietroutbum.blogspot.com/
mic Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Wow. That is one nice fish. Thanks for the report and pic.
Buzz Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Great fish.. How about a few details to go with the photo????????? If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Danoinark Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I second the WOW... What fly? Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
TroutRinger Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 WOW! I have never fished Crane before, but read every post here about it and have never seen a fish like that. There can't be many fish like that in there? "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."
troutbum479 Posted March 22, 2011 Author Posted March 22, 2011 I'm not going to say what hole or section i caught this fish from. I will say that it was on a San Juan worm below a indicator about 4 feet deep on 5x tippet. I will also say that we saw alot of bigger fish in the deeper holes and around structure. arkmoflyfishing.blogspot.com http://okietroutbum.blogspot.com/
drew03cmc Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 The creek holds some big fish and some VERY big fish...I saw ONE very large fish when I was there and missed him by getting "trout fever". I would be wrong in saying that big fish are plentiful, but they are abundant enough that you can have a shot at one if you can get your fly down to them. Andy
