jdmidwest Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Constitutional Carry. Wyoming is becoming the 4th state to adopt Constitutional Carry, which is the ability to carry concealed without any special permit or licensing. I have held out on getting the permit here for 2 reasons. My daily travels and the area I travel does not really warrant the need for a concealed handgun. The other reason, I don't feel as if I should have to go thru all of the hassle and pay the state $100 every 3 years for that right. If this gets started in MO, I will back it wholeheartedly. My thoughts on the matter, if you are legally able to purchase and own a handgun, you should be able to carry it anywhere you go within reason. Wyoming becomes 4th State to pass Constitutional Carry. Is'nt that just what gives you your constitutional rights? A "gov't agency or entity piece of paper"? Stoneroller Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 correct it's called the Constitution of the United States of America. not money grabbing, greedy state of missery 'permit' which is funny because most people in missouri who have a ccw permit, have one a non resident permit from another state. proof that the permitting procedure is a failure, at least from a revenue generating perspective. firearms ownership and possession is a given right. sure it can be taken away, but it's not something you should have to 'gain' at some point, it's already there, in the Constitution. Sad that our 'leaders' have whittled away at it to the point of making the law abiding gun owner the "criminal". Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. JD hold onto your chair but I couldn't agree with you more. There should not be a fee to exercize our constitutional right to carry a legal weapon. I learned that my native state Illinois has a move to remove gun restrictions for right to carry. I support that also. Thom Thom Harvengt
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 That's what I'm talkin about JD. It's ridiculous to pay a hundy to Missouri for my constitutional right... I keep mine in the glove box most of the time. Pete
flytyer57 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Sad that our 'leaders' have whittled away at it to the point of making the law abiding gun owner the "criminal". That goes back to the days when everyone was allowed to carry a weapon. Some would get drunk and pull out their guns and start shooting. Well, the citizens of the towns, states and country said the only way to keep them from shooting eveything up was to take the guns away. I give it about a hundred years (or less) 'till a bunch will start getting drunk and think they are in the old west and start shooting everything up again. Then those guns will not be allowed to be carried for another 100 years or so. Then someone will start crying about their constitutional rights and demand to carry guns again. Somehow we never learn from past mistakes. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

You just can't hide them in your underwear. Or anywhere else on your person. But you are perfectly entitled to strap on a rifle and put on a holster. Be proud you are sporting a gun and wear it on the outside of your clothing. Don't hide it from the bad guy's. On a serious note though, I wish there wasn't such a stigma about carrying a gun. But I am afraid with the attitudes we have today, it will bring some serious trouble. If everyone was packing today, it would make the wild west of the late 1800's look like a third grade birthday party. In this respect, I am not sure how well we have evlolved. But let the record show, that I am for it.
