Gavin Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Justin, I've been thinking about replacing my well worn Wenonah Spirit II with a Novacraft Prospector 17....do you have any down there that I could paddle?
Justin Spencer Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Gavin, I can't remember what these are, they are a polyethylene boat and I know they are the 16 foot version they are what I use when I canoe alone. tjulianc Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 In looking for used canoes, I have found this website to be productive: http://www.paddleswap.com/latest_external.html I would also recommend the Arkansas Canoe Club message board, you'll see mostly white water boats, but I've seen some good recreational crafts too. I know a lot of ya'll are from Missouri, but a good quality used canoe may be worth a 2-3 hour drive, and most sellers are willing to meet half way. http://forums.arkansascanoeclub.com/
FishinCricket Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks for the link, TJ! Lotsa good links there, kinda sorts through CL for you, eh? Actually I found a 2 year old Old Town Discovery 169 right here locally, so I picked it up on the cheap... It's got the fancy Plastic seats with the folding backs, but I'm considering replacing those.. I got a buddy who's amazing with the woodworking stuff (his daddy taught him) and he needs a project to take his mind off things... Thanks again to all of you for your advice, I'm hoping this whole thing (selling the Slo Nuff and buying a canoe) works out well, cause it's been giving me (insecurity) nightmares.. lol cricket.c21.com

But I did sell the Slo nuff to someone who's a close friend, so it's still in the family... I'll be hitching up to it in a few weeks to haul down to Neosho for the "annual float"... cricket.c21.com

FishinCricket Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Congrats! Looks like its in good shape...now all you need is a good rack for the Tahoe. Good point.... Got one I'd be interested in? I wonder if old town makes one? cricket.c21.com
Gavin Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Sorry, but I dont have a extra...I'd go with a Yakima, but it wont be cheap...Think youll need towers, tower locks, bars (72" will haul two canoes), and 2 sets of canoe brackets & straps.
FishinCricket Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Yakima says they don't offer a rack for the 99 tahoe... Go figure.. I ain't trading trucks.. lol cricket.c21.com
