dennis boatman Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hmmmm...My favorite is Bongos Bistro in Stockton... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Gavin Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Cooking from Scratch has some pretty good fried chicken... I also like Missouri Hick BBQ near Cuba, I dont like it for sit down, but I call & pick up a couple racks of ribs on my way back to St. Louis occassionally. Cheers.

MaxDrown Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Cookin' From Scratch has some amazing chicken strips. Best I've EVER had. -- Max Drown
Stoneroller Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I want to say Cookin' from Scratch was on Food Network recently. I think they have a billboard up on 44 about it too. Missouri Hick does have some good BBQ, we usually stop there after camping at Huzzah Valley. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. Gilly Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hmmmm...My favorite is Bongos Bistro in Stockton... Roger that! One of the reasons we bought a home in Stockton....albeit a small reason. Makes the 5 hour trek from Omaha a little more worthwhile. My wife doesn't mind a long day on the lake as long as she gets a Bongo's fix. We also like the Boat House on 39 in Stockton. Decent bbq, cold beer. www.drydock516.com www.drydock516.com
dave potts Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 That Hillbilly Place at Bennett is next to Larry's. I think it is open again but maybe only on weekends. It has gone through several owners. I ate there a couple of times last summer and their BBQ ribs were excellent. I'll second the restaurant at Sand Springs too-great salad bar and soups. Dowd's Catfish House in Lebanon is pretty good also. I didn't used to be too impressed with the Dining Lodge at Bennett but actually got a very good meal there last year. I decided to take a trout in and have them prepare it. They fixed the trout and served it with the salad bar and choice of three vegatables for $8.95 and it was very good. Dave
dgames Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My food fix that have to get when I travel up through MO on fishing trips is a Burrito Enchilada Style at Mexican Villa in Springfield.
