T-RockJaws Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Fished out of the Shell Knob bridge from 7:00 to 11:00 last night. Winning bag was just over 17 pounds (not by my partner and I). We only had a couple of keepers with best one about 3 pounds. The hour or so befoer dark we had a couple of shorts and 1 keeper swimming a grub on the inside of point with lots of timber on it. The bite was pretty slow for us all night. In the last hour we were out, the bite picked up a little using a chomper hula grub dragging it real slow on the bottom. The 3 pounder came on a main lake point that transitions into pea gravel, boat was in about 35 foot of water. For the most part, the water temp was running in the low 50's. Had a buddy that was fishing up in the Big M area, he reported catching strong numbers of fish with three keepers on jigs.

T-RockJaws Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 Not many, only around 14 or 15 boats. It was a nice night to be on the water though!
Members timr0123 Posted April 10, 2011 Members Posted April 10, 2011 Is it open to anyone and if so, how much is the entry fee?
bassman1308 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Is it open to anyone and if so, how much is the entry fee? Yes, it's open to anyone. Not excatly sure about cost but I think about $30 a boat. Well run tourney that's been going on at least 30 years.

Whack'emGood Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I would like to know more about this one Jason. It would work perfect for me! It is a great series T... ran great by great people. A great bunch of guys fish it, and a lot of them are among the best of the best when it comes to night fishing on Table Rock. I fished it for 3 years, but wasn't able to fish in it last year- being on the road and all. I wish I was going to be home to fish it this year, but I'm not. You would love it T. Whack'em "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
techo Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Do you guys know starting and ending times? Entry fee? Two man? Tim Carpenter
Jason Essary Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Tech, Heres a link to their site. http://www.millcreekteamnighttournaments.com/ It is a great derby. Lot of good fishermen, in my mind some of the best nighters on the rock. $35 entry for two guys, $5 dollar big bass. Optional side pot (for first place team). We get in all of it and it ranges $65 if I remember right. Joe Gettle is a great guy and can answer more questions if you have them. His email is on the site. Fished all but 4 last year I think. We had a great time, cept for one night that the starter battery went out on us when we was to come in. We could see the ramp and couldnt get there. Had 2nd in the livewell and had to let them go. But it happens. No dead fish allowed, penalty for shorts. If your late, you dont weigh in. 100% payback with some gifts for second big bass and first out of the money. If you decide to come out let me know, I will look you up before take off. Wackem, hate to hear that your not going to make it this year.
