Zach Bearden Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Here you go Mitch, here's a really good viewpoint on this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0 Tell me what you think. And why would you come to a forum and attack the owner?? That's just pointless if you ask me. Not like you're going to do anything about it. If you don't like it here then why come back? FishinCricket Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Or (in less of a "screw you" fashion): P.S. This is a fishing forum, not a political forum. I'm sure there are plenty of places you can go here on the internet to rant about politics. I'm here to learn from other guys and hopefully I can teach something back. Can we go back to fishing now? Sure, but here's the thing... When you respect someone's opinion about one subject as much as I respect the opinions of some of you guys, you have a want to know more.. To relate more, and to share more... Folks like Mitch and I (and prolly many others) get a bit perturbed when our words are taken for granted (deleted). (but we all take things farther here than we would in the "real world"... After all, it's just the Internet.. ) cricket.c21.com
Tim Smith Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 (but we all take things farther here than we would in the "real world"... After all, it's just the Internet.. ) It's wise to treat the forum with the same decorum you would use in a face to face interaction. You may think you're posting here anonymously but you probably aren't and employers often check your online activity before they hire.
troutfiend1985 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Respect your opinion, but when has the fact that this is a fishing forum ever stopped anyone from expressing their opinion on anything. Also, this thread is not about fishing anyway. Start a new thread for you fly fishing topics . Dude, this is a "General Angling Discussion" and no, I don't see Lilley only shutting down only the right side. Could it possibly be, as the wise one (Cricket) suggests, that the Left side on this forum is a little more sly about posting their opinions. And by the way, before someone starts telling me I'm blue in the face, actually I would probably be considered a moderate independent, with a slight socialist drawl. Not for either side, and if you really get down to it, both sides are illogical for numerous reasons. Anyways, Zach had an interesting topic, when to switch patterns. I guess it comes down to how well you know the stream. I know what my go to patterns are on Crane. In order, if this were in the summer: BHPT olive flashback 16-18 is my number one. If I'm working the holes that I like and not getting anything off of it, and I know that I'm not spooking them as I have my ninja mojo going, then I go to my "Dirty Bird" to which I'm not going to give the pattern away on that one yet. This is a real go getter out there, if that isn't working, then I know that my technique is off, wading to close or I'm lining them. If I fix my hypothetical problems, and the dirty bird still isn't working then I switch up to beadhead caddis. That would be my third fly of choice. But usually I'm not getting that far into my box. I know that it's usually technique over pattern, but pattern does have a lot to do with it IMHO. Just as an example about the importance of pattern, out at yellowstone last year I was killing them on a sz 18 parachute Adams. Switched over to a pattern recommended by BRF, just to see how the trout would react, and nothing. I actually had my A game going that day, a day where the pattern did matter, caught 15 in one day off of Slough Creek. . “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis

Besides, bosses aren't supposed to hire based upon race, creed, color, religion, or forum identity.. :big_wink: Wait a minute... Mr Twenter, is that you? cricket.c21.com
FishinCricket Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Dude, this is a "General Angling Discussion" Well then it's mis-categorized.. Dude.. cricket.c21.com

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 9, 2011 Root Admin Posted April 9, 2011 Could you guys help me with this, please? http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27692
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Obviously I have my law lingo going on today. Is that what drove you in your attempt to garner attention with your lesson for us in fly fishing? We don't want a wise Cricket, we like the smart alec Cricket. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I don't believe there is any room for debate on the political side of the question. This isn't the place to argue politics. The past thread about the shutdown of the Buffalo was not political in my mind. The question of whether the agency has the right to lock citizens out, as opposed to limiting or eliminating services doesn't favor any particular party platform or tendencies. It is certainly hard to put a handle on a decision to shutdown completely a very popular attraction that they exist to insure availability?? Maybe I'm getting old but I thought the whole affair was an embarrassment for the congress as a whole. I mean if this much stirring is over 1% then obviously there is little hope period.
