I'm not gunna lie guys, at first I was skeptical. After talking with Jamesedwards it seems that Stockton truly can produce some crazy bass... that is IF, and a BIG IF you know what to look for, and why to look there. It seems James has been around since before the Lake was made, and knows A LOT of things that the average fisherman at Stockton does not know... Anyway, James you made a believer out of me, and good fishing to you sir.

I've attached 2 of the pics I got from him, and by his request and out of respect, I blacked out his face to help protect his anonymity for when he's out on the lake. These are both just over 10.

Noticed you are an MST Student?? Did you know that the school is trying to start a fishing team?? If you are interested I can get you in touch with the right people. I know a student at the school that has told me he has heard about it.

Thanks for the thought but it's a bit too late for me. I graduated this past December so I'm all done at Rolla. My best friend, Bobby Loyd, was the one that started the FLW college team up at CofO a few years back. Gave me the idea of doing the same thing a few yrs back, I just had too much on my plate already with school and was content fishing the local stuff as a co angler. Wish I could change my display name as MstAlum... or somethin like that. Thanks for the thought though I appreciate it.

Set the hook first, ask questions later...

Anyone know the record for Stockton lake?

I hear it is 11. I have caught a bunch in the 8-10 lb range. Ive caught a bunch of 11 lb fish on the rock over 30 years and I'd say there is several hundred in Stockton over 11 to 13 lbs.

I would really like for a fisheries biologist, Game Warden, or other knowledgable person to tell all of us where to find the Stockton Lake Record for Black Bass. It is really difficult for me to come up with as a published account. I have had some similar problems with other Lakes. We fished a private lake in Arkansas last year and were told that a 19.5 inch Kentucky that was caught by a person in our group was a lake record. However the persons running the dock could not produce any records to prove it. I have heard that Missouri does not keep records on a lake by lake basis. Again....can someone help?

These 2 bass are definitely not smallmouths, and I don't recall seeing anyone say they were. If I missed that post, sorry. These bass are clearly largemouths, Kentucky's rarely get anywhere near that size, plus you can tell by the jaw bone what they are.
