mrgungho Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Good morning all...looking for a little info if available. We are coming down Saturday to fish and I am trying to find out what launches are usable. I have heard Pigeon is a no go and someone told me to try Cranfield. Be nice to know for sure before heading that way from Diamond City. I have called all the marinas and cant get a hold of anyone (which is understandable) Anyways, any info you may have would be great. flytyer57 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 As I was driving by Pigeon Creek earlier today, I noticed some empty boat trailers. They are launching from the road area entering Pigeon Creek. I guess if you have a small boat, you should be able to launch there. May also require 4 wheel drive too? That would depend on your ability to launch in tight spaces and high water. I asked one guy about the Calamity Beach ramp and he said the parking lot ws under water but you could still launch there if you were willing enough. The water was still quite stained at Pigeon Creek. Not sure how long it's gonna take to clear up. If you decide to come down and launch, I would suggest you get here EARLY as all available parking will more than likely be taken pretty quick. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 With a 4wd you can launch anywhere. You can launch off the entry road with a car at boggy point. You should be able to launch at quarry. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Is there any good fishing to be had at Boggy Point from a kayak? There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Is there any good fishing to be had at Boggy Point from a kayak? Maybe, there is a small creek near the ramp. right now its a mud bath everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
flytyer57 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 right now its a mud bath Like the rest of the lake. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 are the back of the creeks starting to clear up any
flytyer57 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 The back of the creek channels should clear up first. When I was at Pigeon Creek yesterday, I could see the water was beginning to clear up some from earlier in the week, but it was still pretty stained and looking a bit browninsh. Now with the rain we had this AM, it will probably mud up again some more. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
