gitnby Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 My Son and I fished from 10 AM - 3 PM Saturday and again from 10 AM - 1PM Sunday. We had a blast catchin smallies! Probably 40+ all together with around 10 keepers. No monsters, but several 3 lber's. Caught most of them on a green pumpkin Fish DR and a watermelon candy baby brush hog on a split shot rig, and some on a 3/8 Eakins jig w/twin tail green pumpkin/purple Chompers. They were in pea gravel pockets off main lake and secondary points. Smaller ones were back in the bushes, but the keepers were on or just outside the deepest trees or bushes in 12-18'. Tried fishing a little deeper hoping the big girls were out there, but the wind was pushing them up, I think? Sunday, the wind really was whippin up at noon, and we wanted to try some spinner baits and grubs, but needed to get back to the house for Mother's Day. Fun day with my boy!

gitnby Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 nice report glad to here you had a good trip out. did you fish mostly clear water? i had fished clear last week and had a blast myself We DID fish the clearer water from Hoot Owl Point and Fisher Creek up to Pt 7 and up towards the dam about 2 or 3 miles. On Sunday, the wind and boat traffic really muddied up the water, though. Had to go on the east side of 13 bridge to find the clear stuff.
