sean c Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Got out this weekend with a couple of friends for one last pre canoe season trip. I was afraid we were going to get washed out after all the rain Friday but the water color stayed good all weekend. The streamer and nymph fishing were both really good. The river looks good and the fish are extremely healthy. It was crazy seeing the debris in the trees and trying to wrap your mind around how high the river got. I am pretty sure the big rock above McKee bridge moved or turned over it looks about half as tall as it did before. Got this one Saturday morning on a streamer The rock above McKee
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 NICE ONE!!! Self guided or did you use some local talent to row the boat? Pete
sean c Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 Self guided Pete I bought a driftboat last year and did a trip with Brian and got to see and learn how it was done properly and have coaxed just enough of my friends to learn how to row that I get to fish every once and awhile.
Nortrad Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Excellent fish! Someday, someday, I will get to fish this river again...
Greasy B Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Wow that’s a nice fish, Beautiful. I live to catch fish like that. Yes the great drift boat dilemma, “someone has to row the darn thing”. Justin Spencer Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Self guided or did you use some local talent to row the boat? I think Sean could be considered local talent at this point, wish I got to fish it as much as him, but my friends won't row. Chris Gates Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Sean, Great Fish! Funny how the big ones seem to eat a lot when the water is up. We need to get down there together sometime. We can take turns rowing.
sean c Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 but my friends won't row. Justin I'm lucky most of my friends don't tie so I just threaten to cutt off their supply of flies if they refuse to row.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 So far, I've been lucky...most of my buddies want to row so I get to fish but sometimes its hard to get me off the oars I love to row... Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
