Trout Stalker Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Charlie can cast a flyrod just as good as any FFF certified casting instructor. Just because you have an official title doesn't necessarily mean you are better than anyone else. I 100% agree. A-MEN. +1
Members Hillbilly Deluxe Posted June 28, 2011 Members Posted June 28, 2011 Yes, Wayne... I am lucky. I was also sitting on a bench out by the restaurant one afternoon and Mr. Rogers asked me if I would like to have him work with me on my casting. Gave me and a friend a one hour free casting lesson! Members lovetofish Posted June 30, 2011 Author Members Posted June 30, 2011 Well that was interesting. From what I got. Weavers has the best website to get info, Charlies is an overall but have to deal with him, Larry's is the friendly and more family area, the park store if you need something quick. Plus now I think the store owners should have a competition among them to see who is the best fly fisherman. So far not to many other websites are that good for what is needed. OK now let the fishing competition began. Do you think the owners will go for it?
Members lovetofish Posted June 30, 2011 Author Members Posted June 30, 2011 I like the park store. It has the largest selection and it is well organized. FYI, lovetofish, the park store is run by Jim Rogers, not the park rangers. He is also the operator at Roaring River State Park.... and the finest caster of a fly rod I have ever seen. Saw him whip 90' of line (and into the backing) off a 9' #5 rod just the other day! What are you talking about? I said Rogers.
