All,

My wife is out of town on this summer's "Grand Baby Tour 2011". I thought about checking off another creek from my Blue Ribbon list and trying out Spring Creek. Thought it would be best to try it out while the water was flowing well and save Little Piney for later in the year. Is the upper half or lower half the best place to fish. I would love any advice.

Thanks In Advance,

Mic

Best place to fish it is right along the Danforth's stretch. Ignore the no trespassing signs -- just tell his goons ness gave you permission. :D

I'm free Saturday afternoon or all day Sunday. The forecast is calling for rain on Saturday. If it is just showers (vrs lightning), I would like to go then because the broken water makes fishing for these spooky trout a little easier. Drop me PM if you want to meet down there on either day.

Public access is on the lower end...and the upper end is strictly private...Still worth a drive up that way to see Relfe Spring though.....You can get in a the TU Access, the Bridge, and there's a poorly marked FS road that you can park on...not an easy creek to cover water on...very brushy...Mill & the LP are short drive from there...so you could easilly fish all three in a day. Cheers.

Is part of the blue ribbon area really private? If its private shouldn't they take it off the trout area map and definitely not provide any stocking?

Is part of the blue ribbon area really private? Yes...conservation rules are the same for public and private.

Shouldn't they take it off the trout area map? No...you can always ask or pay for access. It is marked as private on the map.

Definitely not provide any stocking? This is a wild trout creek and (as far as I know) it is not stocked unless there is an emergency situation.
