Dutch Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Is that the record Hagen was posting about or is this another really biggun'?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 26, 2011 Root Admin Posted June 26, 2011 Gezzz... what a fat striper!! Full of rainbows I bet!! I was thinking today about the record striper- there's been no news of it in the press that I've seen. Was there? Details, Crown? I'd love to post the story on the front page of OA. Do you have any other pictures? Thanks for posting!!
Members Crown97 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Members Posted June 27, 2011 I hadn't really sent pictures or stories about it to any papers so that's probably the reason nobody has seen anything about it. As for a belly full of trout....I would suspect but I wasn't about to cut her open and find out before I could get her weighed at the hatchery the following morning. No real secret where it was caught from. Really it was an amazing night as I was fishing with my two brothers and everybody had 40 plus pound stripers in the boat. Yes I am one of the seemingly growing group that has caught one striper and it happened to be (or will be after confirmation) a state record. I will say that as a trout fisherman I was totally unprepared for any fish like that. Absolute blast and I will be fishing on both sides of the dam for years to come God willing. Also on a lighter note....after eating some of the others we brought back my wife told be she had darn better be able to eat the next one I bring home. Just another reason to go fishing again I guess.

emjay Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Thats a beauty! Huge gut. I caught two last year, kept one and released the other. This year, if none are record breaking like yours, they will all be released so we can enjoy them at Bullshoals for years to come.
