I'm planning on doing a two day, one night camp trip on the Big Piney next weekend-probably from Slabtown to Ross. I try to float the more popular rivers on the weekdays, but I'm not able to make that work this time. How bad can I expect the crowds to be? I've already invited a couple other people on this float, so I'm pretty much locked in to the Big Piney, but I'd like to know what to expect. When I've floated it on weekdays it's been just about deserted, but I'm guessing that won't be the case this time.

Thanks.

I talked to the lady at Wilderness Ridge today and she said they were pretty packed. Let me know how it goes...we've got a trip planned for the same stretch this month.

I'll definitely post a report. That is one stretch of river that I like enough that I'm willing to share it with some other folks, but I hope it isn't ridiculous. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Think you'll be OK between Slabtown and 6x...6x to Ross...is the party stretch.

Thanks.

That sounds okay. Most of our favorite fishing water on the stretch is between Slabtown and 6x anyway. Mainly I didn't want to be setting up camp in party central, and our camp will be well upstream from there.

If you're not worried about the crowds can I come? :have-a-nice-day:
