After a 1 month hiatus, I'm finally able to go fishing tomorrow. I plan on taking a 14 mile float so I can't use bottom bouncing baits. I'll be using a buzzbait, fluke, spook, and torpedo. Any other suggestions? Thanks Riverrat

Sounds like a good plan..might add a couple 1/4oz spinnerbaits, inline spinners, and a few diving crankbaits. Have fun.

I would start at least by running the buzz bait subsurface and walking the Spook. I would do this until I was convinced that neither would work. I think they will be very close to a good deeper flow, if you can find them.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Wayne thanks for the input, I have a few questions. I've never tried a subsurface buzzbait. I usually use a 1/4 oz buzzbait, should I use a heavier one? Also I've noticed that you prefer a Sammy to a spook, I've never used one and would like to know what different action it has than a spook.

I don't change the weight of a buzzbait, just pull it a little slower so that it wakes, kind of like a Footloose. I like a Sammy because its hard not to walk it, rather that working at it. I can also get a little sloppy and it still puts on a pretty good show. They're expensive, so I throw them on braid, and I've even won over a tough Sycamore for possession of one.

They seem to be tight to structure, so I would try pulling them away from it rather than go digging.

Thanks Wayne. This is right my alley floating the river and trying new tactics. I'll post a report tomorrow night. I've got this feeling so I think I'll bring a camera along.
