Idylwilde Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Hey Anglers: What would you be lead to think about an angler who fishes a trout park about once a week and comes in with 3lb to 7lb brown trout some times three at a time. No rainbows just Big Browns. All being caught inside the Trout Park. Is he just a pro Brown Trout angler, Lucky angler, or being less than honest in his pursuit of fish? Tackle is Spinning Rod, Heavy Line, Polarized glasses, white jigs. With a total of 6 trophy browns in less than 6 weeks. None released all taken home after photos taken and bragged about. I am not accusing anybody of anything only asking what You as a Trout angler thinks about this rare feat in Trout Park Angling. Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
kevthebassman Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I think I'd like to see him match his success on some blue ribbon water, outside the park. I won't hold my breath waiting though.

These Browns were not stocked browns in the park. They have not stocked Big Browns in the park in years. Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
Guest Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Snagged fish? I have seen lots of folks do that at montauk, especially with white jigs.
Gavin Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 He definetly knows how to spot fish and drift a jig with some degree of precission...Its impossilbe to infer more w/o seeing him in action. Multiple 18" plus brown trout days happen down there sometimes...not often...but its very possible. Cheers.
FishinCricket Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I think I'm jealous!! lol Maybe he's just that good? I know I am!! cricket.c21.com
Kayser Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 He's most likely a good fisherman, but I would like to see him release these fish so others would have a chance to get one of them. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Mitch f Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Snagged fish? I have seen lots of folks do that at montauk, especially with white jigs. Ditto on that, there was one guy at Montauk that had a group of guys on each side as a sheild so he could snag the fish with a white marabou jig. What a pathetic guy. This was going on 10 years ago. Had several people repeat the exact same story. Setting the hook and snagging require the exact same motion. Makes you wonder why he uses a white jig huh, go figure. TroutRinger Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Real hard to say. I have only seen a handful of browns at Maramec Springs (I assume that's is what your are referring to being from Salem) and have never caught one. I've only seen a few fish in the park over 5lbs. Only managed to hook and subsequently break off 1 of those. but you know, there are some people that have those places completely figured out. There is one gentleman I used to see there (haven't been in a year or so) that would ALWAYS catch fish no matter what. Some of them were quite large too. flyfishmaster Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Well as long as he is only keep one day all is good. I have to agree with some of the other postings, this person has it down and knows where to locate these larger fish. What time of the days does this person catch them? LAter, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
