Thanks for all of the great info. I decided to go with Cara T7 Finesse Jig rod, 6' 10" MH. I tend to fish the smaller stuff and I don't even own a jig bigger than 1/2 oz. I mainly fish Stockton in the clear water around the dam. Found a place online with a price of $179.99 with free shipping.

I know this is an older thread but I thought I throw a comment in.

I've built several rods using micros from deep cranking to pitching. I've yet to find a negative for the user other than the icing up easier problem. I imagine if a guy used reel magic or something similar it would help. My only gripe personally is they are a little harder to wrap on the rod than typical single foot guide. They casting is great. I think it's somewhere around 10 of the cheapy micros weigh as much as a single Fuji titanium sic fly guide. Plus the cheapy micros are under $1 and a to sic guide is usually over $5. I have not built a spinning rod with them yet but hopefully will soon.
