TroutRinger Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 How do you store your line? Having a lot of trouble figuring out how to do it and keep it untangled and out of the way. I am very close to using the retractable dog leash method, especially since I have limited space (8ft yak). p.s. I have completely redone the anchor system. The way I had it set-up, I could not reach the anchor when pulling it up. It would only come up to the very front of the yak (my mistake). Instead, I am using a mini trolley system that runs from the front carry handle location to about 1.5ft straight back to a deck loop (which you can see in the first pic). This way, when I pull the anchor in, the trolley will simultaneously bring the anchor line and anchor within my reach. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." Wayne SW/MO Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I don't anchor that deep, so I just pile it up beside me. Irregardless of the depth of the water I want to fish I anchor in shallow water. I only fish flows however. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
eric1978 Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Some clever mods there. But you're gonna need to replace that zip tie...it's gonna break on you. Maybe not the first time out, but let it bake in the sun for a day or two and it'll become brittle real quick. I'd get a smaller carabiner to fasten it. Nice work! Should be a good little kayak for day trips.
