Being limited to shore fishing, this summer was an "off" year. Upper BS had too much flow going so no stripers this year, Truman was unpredictable at times since they were doing maintenance work on the flood gates earlier in the year which impacted fishing but still had a few good days there. With my "dam" fishing being off, went on a few out of the way places and found new holes closer to home and will be back there next year so this summer wasn't a total bust.

I have to say I am pretty darned happy that we are at the tail end of summer...September can't come soon enough. I love bass fishing, but I am ready to hang up the spinning rods and focus on trout for the next 7 months or so. Leaving for the first fall camp trip on the Current September 2nd, I can't wait.

I am the complete opposite. I will be bass fishing until the end of october or beginning of november.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

I am ready for a break from the heat and cooler weather fishing. The one thing I love about fall is almost all species go on a bit of a feeding binge. Bass fishing is great in October and the first half of November in my area. Trout fishing is pretty much awesome in the cooler months with far less crowds heading into winter.

Some of my highlight this year were catching my first smallmouth on a fly rod, my first goggle eye, and a personal best big brown trout on the Current. The diversity of fish to target in the state is quite nice and makes year round fishing quite good. Might actually do some Catfishing this weekend...which I haven't done in years.

And I'm the opposite of you, just starts getting good in October

Yeah - I like Fall/Winter/Spring on the big lakes better than Summer. Especially the early pre-spawn - jerkbait bite time.

here is a pick of the brown trout. I don't have any pics of the smallies, but they were on the small side of things in the 8-12 inch range, but fun nonetheless.

Yep come on cool weather! I love that winter jerkbait bite. Winter spoon bite can be good too. Swepco gets good in November. Beaver topwater in October, Grand lake in October/November. Come on first frost!
