gotmuddy Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I never fish lakes. I do have a box of jerkbaits collecting dust though. I am hoping I have a jet for my 25hp merc by the time it gets real cold so I can fish eleven point. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members T Hood Posted August 27, 2011 Members Posted August 27, 2011 I'm definitely up for some cooler weather. I've caught my best fish in the last few years in the fall. Hopefully, we'll get a break from Mother Nature. Good luck to all.
ozark trout fisher Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Looks like a break is coming, although it's in like 10 days. The highs then are supposed to drop into the 70s .Or at least so says weather.com, which of course means that the opposite will happen. I too, have caught many of my best fish late in the year. And even't if that weren't so October is easily my favorite month to be on the water. Nothing like being on an Ozark stream in mid October with the woods are every color known to man.
Members Matt King Posted August 28, 2011 Members Posted August 28, 2011 I had a pretty productive fishing year now that I've got a kayak. Caught two 17+ inch largemouths on one rapala in early summer on Springfield Lake and yesterday, on Flat Creek, I pulled out the biggest smallie I've ever caught being 18 inches. There was a bunch of other lil guys but those were the two that stand out to me. Never really got to do much springtime fishing tho. Cant wait to do some fall floats either! Matt
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 here is a pick of the brown trout. I don't have any pics of the smallies, but they were on the small side of things in the 8-12 inch range, but fun nonetheless. Very nice my friend! Very nice indeed!
