Quillback Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Arkansas has stocked approximately 50,000 2 inch Walleye fingerlings into Table Rock this May. I assume they went into the White River arm, but the report does not specify where they were stocked. http://www.agfc.com/resources/Publications/Craig.pdf
Jeremy Rasnick Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I believe several were stocked in around Cricket Creek as well as the upper kings river. These are the Arkansas portions of the white river. I know last year that several walleye were caught from cricket creek upstream.
Dutch Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 50,000 2" walleye should make for some crappie and bass food. I wonder how many of them can be expected to make it to legal length.
steveearle Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 50,000 2" walleye should make for some crappie and bass food. I wonder how many of them can be expected to make it to legal length. Cheaper to do this with a calculated mortality rate that raise them themselves for a year in the hatcheries...That's my guess anyway. I saw some very nice walleye (my uncle caught) that showed up in some unexpected parts of T-Rock this year. I saw the pics and first assumed he had been over to Bull...
Quillback Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 They did 2 stockings, one with approx. 40 K and another around 6 K. To Jeremy's point, maybe it was 2 different locations, White and Kings rivers.
Martin Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The high water this spring should probably help with keeping some of those little eyes alive. (hopefully)
