zarraspook
FYI .. I had to go to Sam's yesterday and Academy Sports has a banner across the front of the store that says " OPENING 16th SEPT."...... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
junkman
It has been a big inconvenience that the one in Joplin got destroyed. I hope they re open it as well. I thought they had fair prices on allot of their stuff.

5bites
Monday afternoon I had to drop my boat off at hydro tec and went past the new academy. The parking lot was full so I thought we were in luck and stopped by after dropping the boat off. I kinda felt like an idiot when I got into the parking lot and saw the huge banner with the opening date. I thought it was strange that it was closed Saturday on the way to bps but open Monday lol. I'm glad I didn't drive all the way from Carthage just to find that out!

Is this the same HydroTec that was just north of Nixa on South Campbell or HW 160? Jackie

straw hat
Although I am looking forward to the new store I wanted to mention something to you The tax rate at Academy (just like the Sam's next door) will be 8.7% while it will be only 7.6% at BassPro. On a big purchase that can make a big difference. Just something to think about.
Members jovush
My daughter works there and I asked her about the tax rate. She said it will be 7.6%. If I made it to Joplin, Academy was a definite stop, glad we have one opening in Springfield.
Members evnrude18
Hydro-Tec is still in business btw. One of the few reliable and very knowledgeable boat repair facilities I know of in the Spfld metro area. Just had some work done on my 150 Mariner as of late. Ask for Matt or Wayne.
