Members cabinman Posted September 22, 2011 Members Posted September 22, 2011 The was a company vehicle from tracker marine apparently testing a boat or equipment at Cedar Ridge campground ramp Wednesday Sept. 21 early afternoon who put in a boat and left their truck on the ramp with trailer in the water for hours. Two young gentlemen who were too lazy to park truck and walk back down to ramp. It is a shame to see such poor sportsmanlike and inconsiderate behavior from Bass Pro employees near thier corporate headquarters especially at a busy ramp on the end of the lake where most other boat ramps are closed due to high water.
straw hat Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Sad to see people act like that isn't it? They are just thinking about themselves and not others. Their poor attitude usually gets those kind of employees in trouble eventually. The problem is they just go to work for someone else and we still have to put up with them! lol
WettinLine Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 This seams to be the norm out of major corps, it doesn't have to be this way. I love to shop local but I've never had great service out of the bass pro in SGF location. Try Cabelas, they treat you right!
Justin Spencer Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Not sure how it got into neutral guys? Should I call a tow truck, I think I can see the roof of your truck. Next time one of you gets upset about someone being a crappy customer service rep, ask yourself "Would I pay more for their product if they conducted themselves professionally?" And if you answered that "Yes, I would!" then please do me a favor? Go out and check the dealer sticker on your back bumper and re-assess the answer to your question! If you're truly honest with yourself then either: A. You are truly the exception to the rule in the case Or (more likely) B. You'll realize that this is a capitalistic, do it yourself me-me-me world that no longer has room for us customer service professionals! Okay, someone else can have the soapbox now... cricket.c21.com
Ham Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Have you called Bass Pro Shops and voiced your concerns? What about MDC? Did they have run flat tires on the truck? That type stuff is typical behavior of Marine Shops, but I would have called Bass Pro and MDC about it. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Jack Jones Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I probably would have called too and made a little bit of a stink because that's my nature. All the while, I'd know it means nothing to the corporation, and in reality, could have very negative ramifications on the workers who probably really need the job. My experience has been that corporations over-react to customer complaints and take it out on the low level employees rather than fix what is usually a more systemic problem. As long as it's not costing them too much money, it's an acceptable risk/loss. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Martin Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I'll bet John L. Morris would take note if the complaint ever reached him....Problem is, he won't ever see it cause somebody will make sure not to bother the "head guy" for a small complaint. Of course, it isn't a small complaint to you and I, but it's nothing the top dog will ever see. I would have been really tempted to at least leave a note on the truck. (Probably find it in the water later).. We've all got stories...Sorry it's still happening.

I guess my answer to this question is, Yes I would pay more for customer service, I do it all the time. There is a reason I'm willing to pay 5% more for food at Target over going to Wal-Mart and waiting in line for 15 mins. I also use my local MFA, and TruValue, I can feed and chainsaws cheaper but I like the customer service. It sucks that everyone is out to save a few bucks, plus I've never seen a deal a bass pro, they might have major buying power but they never pass that along. Add one more thing, foreign vehicle regardless of where assembled do not park in my driveway, I buy local and American when I can, or until customer service or product turns to crap!! There are compeditors in every market, what sets them apart is customer service and product dependability.
