Members Center Punch 2 Posted October 10, 2011 Members Posted October 10, 2011 I gotta give it to them;they were on the ball today. there were 6 guys fishing off the boat ramp with powerbait and were keeping well over their limit(10 fish on one stringer that was recovered) and all were in the slot limit.they incredibly showed up maybe 10 mins after they were called and was able to catch them in the act. i have to be honest, i was expecting them to get away because in the past it would take well over 2 hrs for them to show. im glad they got them now instead of having them return again and again and take fish. also it was good to see you rick and leonard

That was a good heads up call on your part and I am really pleased with mdc's response time. Come on back down soon, it was great to see you and Amanda.

jdmidwest Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 You are welcome. They need all the extra eyes we can provide. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
TroutRinger Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Almost every time I go there I see people breaking some rule, most commonly around the boat ramp. So far it hasn't been anything more serious then using an illegal lure and one instance of an illegal rainbow. They always seem to be clueless tourists so I politely let them know the rules. So far, they've been apologetic and immediately stopped the violations, but I always have the game thief number ready. More signs might work, although people don't pay attention to signs, and it would be an eye sore as well. More enforcement might be more effective. I've never seen a DNR or CA officer near the water.
